Sherrill Girard is a Canadian artist who has
recently moved to Montreal, Quebec. She paints in
her studio located in the Art Deco RCA Building in
St. Henri in Montreal, an burgeoning urban arts area
in south Montreal. Sherrill has traveled
extensively and painted and exhibited
internationally in Canada, the UK, the United States
and Japan. Her work can be found in private and
corporate collections in Canada, Europe, the U.S.
and Asia. Sherrill received her art education at a
number of institutions, including the Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design, Ontario College of Art,
the University of Guelph and recently Dawson College
in Montreal.
Sherrill Girard works in watercolour, oil,
encaustic and photography. She is a signature member
of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour,
and her large, explosive watercolours of nature
include landscapes, close-ups of flowers and leaves,
and seasonal images that radiate luminous colour and
light. Currently Sherrill is exploring the
wilderness of Quebec Laurentians as well as the
urban backstreets, buildings and railyards of urban
Montreal.
