Marlene Bulas

Marlene Bulas has been painting for approximately 20 years and has loved every moment of her art journey. She attended Georgian College Design and Visual Arts program from 1996 to 1999 as well as numerous workshops in Canada, USA, Mexico, France, Italy, and Ireland. Her unique, colourful, contemporary paintings are inspired by local landscapes such as Georgian Bay, “The Land Between”, Oro Medonte, Lake Simcoe, and Manitoulin, as well as where she has travelled, with NFLD being a favourite. Paintings of rolling country hills, rural roads, small towns and villages, local landscapes, still life, and people reflect the joy of experiencing the world around us. Every painting has a story-often with a sense of humour and fun; other paintings have a metaphorical message saying “Enjoy the journey,” while others may encourage peaceful, tranquil,

meditative responses. Her paintings have received recognition and awards in Canada and the USA
